David Robbins
Band Director
Bio
David Robbins is an experienced music educator with a rich academic background, having attended Rusk High School, Texas A&M University, and Stephen F. Austin State University. His passion for music was inspired by his father, who was also his band director and role model and lovingly known by the Mighty Indian Band as Elder Robbins. David's lifelong love for music led him naturally into the field of education, where he could share his enthusiasm and knowledge with younger generations.
With 13 years of experience in education, David has spent the past six years as the Band Director in Frankston, where he has fostered a thriving music program. His dedication to the craft and his students is evident in the way he leads and encourages his band members, helping them grow both musically and personally. Students in the Mighty Indian Band see the band hall as their school home and their peers and leadership as family.
Outside of his professional life, David is a major Star Wars fan, a fun fact that is well know amongst his students, especially those who have had the opportunity to take the band trip to Disney and see the additions to the lightsaber collection, His love for both the arts and the iconic sci-fi franchise speaks to his creative spirit and passion for storytelling in all its forms.
