Christi Coker

Teacher and Coach

Bio

Christi Coker, a proud graduate of Frankston High School, earned her degree from East Texas Baptist University, where she played college basketball for four years and remains the all-time leading scorer. With a family legacy at Frankston, both her father and aunt also coached there, making her role in education and coaching especially meaningful. Now in her 24th year as an educator, with 19 of those years spent at Frankston, Christi serves as the head girls' basketball and tennis coach and teaches 7th grade Texas History, where she shares her passion for the rich heritage of the Lone Star State.

One of Christi’s proudest moments in her career came when her Maidens basketball team defeated LaPoynor and reached the Regional Tournament during the challenging Covid year. Inspired by her high school coach, Roy Shipp, and her mother, Debbie Coker, a teacher, Christi is dedicated to both teaching and coaching, shaping the lives of her students and athletes with the same passion and leadership that influenced her.

Outside of school, Christi enjoys spending time with her family and engaging in various hobbies, including camping, fishing, hiking, going to the beach, watching sports, and listening to Texas country music. Her deep-rooted connection to Frankston and her love for education make her a valued member of the community.
