Jennifer Skender is a dedicated educator with a heartfelt passion for teaching, particularly in the realm of special needs education. A proud graduate of Stephen F. Austin University, she has spent 14 years in the field, with the last three years at Frankston ISD. Jennifer is inspired by the profound impact that special needs individuals have on our lives, viewing her students as blessings who inspire and challenge us to grow.
One of Jennifer’s favorite moments as an educator is the special needs field day, where she delights in the interactions between general education and special needs students. This event exemplifies her belief in the power of inclusivity and community. She her effective teaching strategies have been inspired by teachers like Vickie Cantrel, known for her exceptional classroom management and ability to make learning enjoyable and kind-hearted.
In her free time, Jennifer enjoys a range of activities, including fishing, boating, and camping, as well as reading and playing games. She especially treasures moments spent with her two grandsons. With a lighthearted sense of humor, she notes that her last name is a heteropalindrome, Skender spelled backward is "rednecks," showcasing her approachable personality. Jennifer’s commitment to her students and her vibrant outlook make her a cherished member of her educational community.
