At the end of the semester, FISD Technology Director, Becky Hancock, will retire, bringing her 22-year career with Frankston schools to a close. For the entirety of her career, Mrs. Hancock, has been an integral part of the success of FISD staff and students by supplying classroom technology that enhances the learning experience. Under the leadership of Mrs. Hancock, the Frankston technology department has approached their role in the district with an attitude of service, making the needs of the classroom teacher their primary focus.

In pursuit of serving the growing technological needs of the district, Mrs. Hancock has been an innovative leader, introducing cutting edge classroom technology in both the hardware and software available to teachers and students. On top of her dedication to supporting the educational needs of the district, Mrs. Hancock is valued by all her peers and employees at FISD for her always cheerful disposition, her giving spirit, and her thoughtful and caring nature.

Like all her efforts at FISD, Mrs. Hancock has put great thought and care into making sure the transition of the Technology Department causes as little disruption as possible. However, the Spring semester at FISD will undoubtedly be different, not only because of the value she brought to her role, but also because we will return missing a valuable leader in the FISD family.

Moving forward we are excited to see what retirement holds for Mrs. Hancock. Fred Rogers, best known for his role as Mr. Rogers stated, “Often when you are at the end of something, you’re at the beginning of something else.” All of us at FISD hope that this beginning is full of all the little things that make life so special. Congratulations to Mrs. Hancock on her well-earned retirement and thank you for your years of hard work, dedication, and service to Frankston schools!
