MORE INFORMATION ON FREE MEALS FOR STUDENTS
Dear FISD Parent/Guardian,
As we begin a new six weeks, our students' well-being and success remains the top priority at Frankston ISD. Our commitment includes ensuring your child can access nutritious food at school.
Starting Monday, November 2, 2020, FISD is operating the Seamless Summer (SSO) Option with their meal service. This federal nutrition program allows us to serve nutritious meals in our community to children 18 and younger and enrolled students with disabilities up to 21 years old at no cost to your family. All FISD students can receive free daily meals (both breakfast and lunch) whether they are learning in-person or remotely due to COVID-19 quarantines.
Meal service methods available: For all FISD in-person students, remote students, or any child in the community ages 18 and under and enrolled students with disabilities up to age 21
Meal service location: Remote students and community children ages 18 and under and enrolled students with disabilities up to age 21 are able to pick up a free breakfast and lunch at the high school cafeteria between 9:30 am-10:00 am each day Monday-Friday. Children must be present to receive meals.
Where to find more information about school meals: Tina Owen, FISD Food Service Director, 903-876-2556 Ext. 231, firstname.lastname@example.org
In addition to school meals, you and your family may be able to access food through community organizations operating programs such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) or Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). These programs can provide additional support during the COVID-19 public health emergency.
