Welcome to the Elementary Counselor's Page!
Hello! My name is Mrs. Wages and I am the counselor at Frankston Elementary School. I have been in the education world for 5 years, 4 of those being in Frankston. Before I became a counselor, I taught 1st and 3rd grades.
I graduated from Palestine High School in 1991. After raising my 2 children, I returned to college to complete my teaching degree. I obtained my associates degree from TVCC in Palestine and my bachelor’s from UT Tyler. After teaching a couple of years, I began working on my master’s degree in school counseling through Lamar University (online) and graduated in August of 2017.
I have been married for almost 28 years to my high-school sweetheart. We have 2 amazing kids, Hunter and Meg. Hunter graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2017 and started working in downtown Austin last summer. Meg is attending TJC and plans to transfer to UT Tyler in the spring. We have 2 fur-babies, Simon the Schnauzer and Chewy the Shorkie. We are huge animal-lovers and advocates for pet adoption.
This will be my first year to be on the Elementary campus full-time and I am VERY excited! Tuesday-Thursday will be guidance days, every week. I will see every student on those days and we will focus on having good character and discovering solutions to everyday problems. I am using the “Choose Love” curriculum that was created by the mom of a student from Sandy Hook Elementary and has lots of great lessons for our kids!
Please feel free to call or email me with any questions or concerns!
