GABC Band Camp

GABC Band camp is happening next week.  Band members will meet Monday, July 16th at 7:00 a.m. in the Band Hall. If you are attending the camp please print and bring the medical and photo waiver with you.

Early Voting

Frankston ISD would like to offer a free ride to anyone who wants to early vote in Anderson County.  We will have a bus available for community members on Wednesday, May 16th at 10:00 a.m. and on Friday, May 18th at 10:00 a.m..  If you would like to sign up please call 903-876-5986.

Softball Send-off

FISD will have a send-off to show support for the Maidens as they leave to play Grandview on Friday.  The send-off will begin at 3:20 and pass through the middle school and high school.  It will end at the bus loop in front of the high school in between the high school office and the football field.  Come support the Maidens and cheer them on to victory in Duncanville!

FFA Town Hall Meeting

 There will be an FFA town hall meeting at 6 p.m. on May 14th in the high school cafeteria.

Staff and Community Meeting

Frankston ISD will be holding staff and community meetings, along with an online survey, to gather input on the characteristics that the next elementary principal should have.
Please plan to join district leaders at a community meeting on Monday, April 23 at 6 p.m. at the Frankston Elementary Library to provide input on the characteristics that the next principal should have.

Baseball/Softball Game Changes

1.  Baseball will play at 4:30 and 7:00 April 2nd instead of April 3rd.  The game is at Frankston.

2.  Softball will play at 6:00 on April 2nd instead of April 3rd.  The game is at Frankston.

3.  The middle school district track meet tomorrow is at Malakoff and not Westwood.

Clay Target Team

Jessie North is the big winner in our first Clays competition!

The Cherokee County 4H Whiz-Bang Clays Tournament was held in Tyler on Saturday March 17th.  Frankston middle school student, Jessie North, brought his a-game winning 1st Place in his Division for Trap and 3rd Place in his Division for Sporting Clays. Congratulations Jessie!

Baseball/Softball Location Change

The Keno Fitzgerald baseball tournament will be played at Faulkner Park in Tyler, TX due to weather and field conditions. See Full Schedule

The softball team will play on Friday in Athens at 12:30 and 3:40.  They will also play in Athens on Saturday at 10:00, 2:30, and 7:00

Softball Game Changes

“Due to field conditions the JV and varsity Maidens will not play in the Carthage softball tournament.  The JV will travel with the varsity today for a round robin tournament in Bullard.  The varsity will play at Brook Hill at 4:00.  The varsity will then play at Bullard High School at 6:30.  There will be varsity games tomorrow if the weather permits.  There will be no JV games tomorrow.  Time and location of the varsity game(s) will be announced as soon as possible.

East Texas Playoff Preview

The women’s East Texas Playoff Preview will be hosted by Frankston High School.  Martin’s Mill and Crockett will play on Friday, February 9 at 7:00 PM.

Fantastic Teeth Program

Mr. Roy Brown from the William Foster Masonic Lodge in Frankston was nice enough to come to Frankston Elementary School on Friday, January 12th. He spoke with the 1st grade during their PE time. We talked about how important it is to brush your teeth.  He brought a kit that included a toothbrush, toothpaste, timer, dental floss and a pouch to keep everything in.  

Thank you so much to the Fantastic Teeth Program and the William Foster Masonic Lodge.

Upcoming Basketball Events

There are several basketball tournaments taking place over the Christmas break.  Be sure and take a look at these scheduled events and support FISD athletics whenever you can. 

  • The varsity Maidens will play Harmony at Harmony High School on Dec. 28th.  Game time is 11:00 am. 
  • There will not be a Frankston Classic this year due to the city shutting off water at the school during the Christmas break.
Veteran's Day Celebration

Every campus in the district joined together this week to honor American Veteran's for their sacrifice and service to the country.  The auditorium was filled to capacity with students, staff, and community members all wishing to show their gratitude to current and former service men and women.  The Indian Band and Elementary choir performed patriotic music and speeches were presented by faculty members and student essay winners. A Bus Ride for Mr. House Troy House

Frankston students and staff honored a special guest on Wednesday, October 19th.  Former beloved teacher and Wall of Honor honoree, Troy House, took a bus ride through Frankston and followed the route he drove for many years.  Mr. House's bus stopped in front of the school to be cheered and encouraged by FISD students and many former students and co-workers.

Perfection on Wheels Assembly BMX Performers

Frankston students attended a thrilling BMX presentation on Thursday morning. The program was designed to inspire and instruct students on topics that are important to today's youth.  Students got to watch exciting stunts performed by BMX athletes while getting anti-bullying messages, anti-tobacco stories, bicycle safety advice, character building, and more.

 

Region 7 Instructional Technology Meeting IT Meeting

The FISD Technology Department hosted the fall Instructional Technology Support Meeting on Friday, October 20th.  IT specialists from nine of the Region 7 districts attended to discuss current trends in educational technology and share ideas for creating a successful IT program. 

Online Enrollment Now Open Online Registration

The Online Registraton option for parents with Family Access is now available.  Login to your family access account and you will see the button for Online Registration.  After this is completed you will be directed to a single two page form that is the only additional paperwork necessary.  If you are not registered with Family Access you can sign up by completing a simple Family Access request form.
